Retail Design Consultant (Interior Design)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; physical retail in-store role.

Salary: $26.50 per hour base, plus quarterly bonuses and uncapped commission opportunities.

What you will do

• Deliver a luxury guest experience and support customer satisfaction across trade and consumer interactions.
• Manage a book of business, build long-term client relationships, and prospect new design customers in-store and in the community.
• Support large-scale luxury projects, trade projects, custom product development, and home furnishings purchases.
• Conduct virtual, in-home, and in-store design appointments, including preparation of design deliverables, product curation, and follow-up.
• Advise on fabrics, finishes, performance, texture, durability, and market trends using digital and physical swatches.
• Use sales analytics and design software, manage store operations as needed, and meet sales, customer satisfaction, and other KPIs.

Requirements

• 2+ years of design experience within a design firm or high-end furniture retailer.
• Professional digital design portfolio required for application.
• Proven experience managing large-scale projects for luxury B2C and trade customers.
• Passion for design, strong customer service, and drive to exceed sales targets.
• Strong organization, self-motivation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Technical ability to learn required software and demonstrated ability to work in a team sales environment.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment and maintain flexible availability, including mornings, nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Valid driver's license required for in-home design visits.
• Ability to perform the listed physical duties, including standing, walking, reaching, climbing or balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting or moving up to 50 lbs.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Perigold supplier brands, materials and construction, and custom programs.
• Proficiency in Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with CRM, POS, and design software such as Salesforce, DesignFiles, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit.
• Bachelor’s degree or college diploma equivalent specializing in Art, Architecture, or Interior Design.
