2027 Summer Ion Source Development Intern (Gloucester, MA)

Location: Gloucester, MA, United States; onsite. Internship runs from May 24 to August 13, 2027. Travel required up to 10% of the time. Relocation eligible.

Salary: $31–$50 per hour.

Develops materials science, engineering solutions, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment used in advanced chips and displays.

What you will do

• Learn ion source technology, experimental procedures, and testing tools.
• Develop test plans for different aspects of ion source performance and run experiments on source test stands.
• Acquire and analyze experimental data.
• Conceptually design new parts to improve ion source performance.
• Present experimental results in a group environment.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Materials Science & Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• Maintain good academic standing at the university.
• Be a quick learner.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
• Experience in semiconductor processing or manufacturing.
• Coding experience in MATLAB, LabVIEW, or Python.
