Industrial Engineering Intern (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: USA - Vermont - Essex Junction; full-time onsite internship requiring at least 40 hours per week.

Salary: $20.00–$40.00 per hour; the exact salary depends on qualifications, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Analyze strategic project performance and large datasets to identify opportunities to improve capacity modeling, operating costs, cycle time, and factory space utilization.
• Build dashboards, simplify project management processes, identify critical path items, and compile data for design decisions.
• Provide factory layout support and contribute to tactical projects supporting project schedules.
• Work with Industrial Engineering, Project Management, Construction, and Equipment Engineering teams.
• Communicate across Manufacturing, Construction, Industrial Engineering, Planning, and Facilities.
• Participate in lean problem-solving sessions and value stream mapping, document results, and follow Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.

Requirements

• Be at least a sophomore at the time of application and actively pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or a related field through an accredited degree program during the internship.
• Maintain an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and good academic standing.
• Have English fluency in written and verbal communication.
• Be able to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
• Perform activities safely and responsibly and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security programs.

Nice to have

• Prior internship or co-op experience in Industrial Engineering or related manufacturing operations.
• Leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, or similar settings.
• Strong interest in using AI tools and emerging technologies to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision-making.
• Project management skills, including innovating and executing meaningful solutions and navigating ambiguity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Data analytical skills for simplifying large amounts of data.
