Agency Relationship Underwriter

Location: Draper, Utah, United States; hybrid work-from-home flexibility may be available after initial in-person training. Ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship is required.

What you will do

• Apply insurance coverages, rules, guidelines, and company underwriting philosophy to make underwriting decisions.
• Complete training and development through the company’s underwriter training program for the assigned insurance line.
• Learn and interpret insurance coverages, contracts, policies, manuals, forms, and endorsements.
• Analyze loss experience, financial conditions, and physical characteristics of risks.
• Assemble information, develop opinions, and clearly communicate decisions using sound reasoning and judgment.
• Communicate with independent agents and other associates verbally and in writing while building knowledge of supporting underwriting functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or direct equivalent experience with property/casualty underwriting.
• Ability to organize data, multitask, and make independent decisions.
• Above-average written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to write reports and compose correspondence.
• Ability to resolve complex issues.
• Ability to continually develop product knowledge through approved educational programs.
• Ability to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
