Staff Software Engineer, Delivery Engineering (AI)

Location: Remote in Canada (Eastern time zone) or the United Kingdom; the role is also open to candidates based in Europe or the Eastern time zone.

Canada base pay: $195,000–$265,000 CAD annually; United Kingdom base pay: £125,000–£170,000 GBP annually.

What you will do

• Build AI-native shared platforms and tooling for the agentic software development lifecycle.
• Help define the end-to-end workflow for AI agents, from identifying changes through planning, execution, pull requests, merging, and impact measurement.
• Evaluate agentic tooling, models, vendors, open-source solutions, repository patterns, harnesses, and skills, making build-versus-buy decisions.
• Work with engineering teams to understand workflows, identify friction, and shape solutions that teams adopt.
• Instrument agent usage and outcomes, measuring throughput, quality, cost, model choice, token usage, and reliability.
• Write design documents, lead technical discussions across teams, and mentor engineers adopting agentic workflows.

Requirements

• Direct experience driving an agentic developer experience initiative that changed how an engineering organization builds software with AI agents, including measuring impact, driving adoption, and learning from unsuccessful approaches.
• Daily hands-on experience with coding agents, agent harnesses, MCP, skills, or prompt design, including evaluating agent output and reasoning about model and token economics.
• Experience building and supporting internal platforms or developer tooling used by other engineers, and driving adoption.
• Production backend engineering experience in Go, including API design, data modeling, and service integration.
• 8+ years of production engineering experience at staff scope, including technical decisions spanning multiple teams and accountability for delivery.
• Ability to build direction by listening to users, translate the needs of multiple teams into clear trade-offs, document reasoning, and bring stakeholders along.
