Admissions Counselor II - Houston

Location: Remote; must reside within the Houston region, United States, and travel to campus in Corpus Christi and other regional locations as required.

Salary: Up to $3,657.34 monthly, approximately $43,888.08 annually.

What you will do

• Advise Houston-area prospective undergraduate students on admission requirements, enrollment information, academic offerings, transferability of courses, and student opportunities.
• Build relationships with Houston high school counselors, community college representatives, community organizations, alumni, and other partners.
• Visit schools, deliver presentations, host admissions events, and represent the university at college fairs, signing days, campus preview events, and other regional programs.
• Recruit students during the TACRAO recruiting season in Houston and other regions across Texas.
• Develop and implement recruitment strategies and coordinate regional admissions events to attract applicants and yield admitted students.
• Communicate with students, parents, and counselors; prepare student-status, partner, recruitment, and travel reports and reconcile monthly travel statements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience. Additional experience may substitute for the minimum requirement, including an associate’s degree and three years of related experience.
• Ability to travel and work irregular hours, including weekends.
• Strong public speaking, presentation, customer service, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite skills.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and organize events.
• Ability to learn TAMU-CC admissions, academic offerings, services, and student opportunities.
• Must reside within the Houston region and support local recruitment activities, school and community relationships, and regional events.

Nice to have

• Experience in admissions, student recruiting, student affairs, or college relations.
• Documented professional excellence in a dynamic, service-oriented role involving daily one-on-one interaction.
• Experience with Banner Student Information System, CRM software, and enrollment applications such as Argos and Laserfiche.
