Project Accountant - Finance - 9 Months Contract

Location: Hybrid, North Sydney, New South Wales, Australia — 77 Pacific Highway.

What you will do

• Set up, maintain, and monitor project budgets, cost estimates, forecasts, and related system data.
• Perform monthly revenue analysis, including work in progress, backlog, and revenue recognition testing, and explain results to Principals in Charge and Project Managers.
• Manage accurate and timely project invoicing in line with contractual terms, coordinating with clients and internal teams.
• Support cost reduction, margin maximization, working capital management, and successful project delivery.
• Reconcile subcontractor and supplier statements, assist with general accounting, project-related general ledger reconciliations, and month-end duties.
• Compile quarterly and annual audit binders and ensure financial reporting requirements and deadlines are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of project accounting or billing experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Nice to have

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Experience in engineering or other project-oriented firms.
