Senior Director, Internal Audit - Networks & Technology (Telecommunications)

Location: NSW, Australia; hybrid arrangement with three days in the office and two days remote or from home.

What you will do

• Develop and deliver the Internal Audit strategy and annual audit plan across Networks, Technology, Security and Risk.
• Provide independent assurance across telecommunications networks, cybersecurity, technology infrastructure, resilience, regulatory compliance and major transformation initiatives.
• Partner with senior executives and technical leaders to provide strategic advice, risk insights and constructive challenge while preserving Internal Audit independence.
• Identify emerging technology, cyber, network and operational risks and translate complex technical issues into practical audit priorities and executive-level insights.
• Lead, coach and develop high-performing audit teams, improving technical capability, audit quality, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Extensive senior leadership experience in Internal Audit, Technology Risk, Cybersecurity, Telecommunications Assurance or related risk and assurance disciplines within large, complex and highly regulated organisations.
• Deep understanding of telecommunications networks, network architecture, technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, resilience, cloud environments and related governance and control frameworks.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver strategic risk-based assurance programs and influence executive stakeholders.
• Ability to provide independent challenge across highly technical and operational environments.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to translate complex network, cyber and technology risks into business, customer, resilience and regulatory outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience at Deloitte, PwC, EY or KPMG in Technology Risk, Telecommunications Advisory, Cybersecurity, Internal Audit, Risk Advisory or Assurance leadership roles.
