Controls Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Mundelein, Illinois, United States

Salary: $85,000–$128,000 annual; bonus and/or incentive eligible

What you will do

• Maintain process hazard analyses, P&IDs, procedures, electrical schematics, and Process Safety Management systems.
• Maintain PLC and HMI programs, databases, information systems, and manufacturing control systems.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, instrumentation, and operational issues.
• Design, test, troubleshoot, and oversee implementation of new processes and retrofits to existing systems.
• Create and implement automation strategies and processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Maintain quality assurance for manufacturing control systems and facility equipment controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with instrumentation and controls in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing solutions.
• Time-management skills, including prioritizing, organizing, tracking project details, and meeting multiple deadlines.
• Availability to work extended, odd, or on-call hours as business needs require.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineering License.
• EIT completion.
• At least 2 years of engineering experience with instrumentation and controls in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000, RSViewSE, Vantage Point, Historian, and SQL.
