Controls Design Engineer (PLC)

Location: Mabank, Texas, United States; onsite five days a week.

Salary: $89,210–$133,810 per year.

What you will do

• Design turbine and driven-equipment control systems and upgrades for existing fielded equipment.
• Interface with application engineering, project management, operations, regional and field engineering, manufacturing, testing, and other departments to define project scope and requirements.
• Create electrical schematics, console and package wiring diagrams, interconnect wiring schedules, controller software, and HMI software.
• Support project management in defining custom requirements and support manufacturing and test organizations through project completion.
• Coordinate with Standards Engineering to incorporate design improvements into standard databases.
• Participate in HAZOPs, customer design reviews, technical task risk assessments, factory pre-commissioning, acceptance tests, and field commissioning support.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience, or 3+ years of relevant experience with a Master's degree.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Experience with control systems such as PLC5 and RSLogix.
• Analytical thinking and root-cause analysis skills.
• Decision-making and critical-thinking skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities.
• Knowledge of design engineering, product testing, and product design and development.

Nice to have

• Experience building electrical loop schematics, composing PLC code, and modifying HMIs.
• Experience with industrial applications or in the oil and gas field.
