HR Risk & Compliance Analyst

Location: Hoover, Alabama, United States; applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Salary: $54,136.50–$70,320.00 USD annually; not incentive eligible.

What you will do

• Research laws and regulations affecting HR and business unit operations, assess their impact, and support regulatory change management.
• Monitor, reconcile, and maintain HR regulatory changes, inventories, documentation, procedures, and annual review schedules.
• Test HR processes and new regulatory implementations against GRC controls, verify operational effectiveness, identify gaps, and provide guidance on results.
• Develop and maintain testing plans, schedules, testing calendars, procedures, communications, and compliance-related policies.
• Prepare metric, committee, spreadsheet, and presentation reports; fulfill information requests from Internal Audit, external auditors, and second-line risk groups.
• Coordinate HR compliance training, annual federal compliance processes for large employers and federal contractors, and third-party risk management monitoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Audit, or a related field, or a high school diploma/GED plus four years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of rules and regulations and their impact on products, services, operations, and HR activities.
• Ability to research, analyze data, derive facts, and maintain critical data accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organizational skills, work ethic, self-motivation, and ability to work in a team environment.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Experience in compliance, quality assurance/control, audit, or a related compliance function specific to a line of business.
• Strong technical and detail orientation, strong Excel skills including pivot tables, and experience working with data with an emphasis on accuracy.
• Risk management knowledge, including foundational risk management elements and operational or compliance risk experience.
• Experience reviewing new regulatory requirements, implementing regulations, and monitoring adherence.
• Proactive, self-directed approach with sound judgment, effective communication, and consistent deadline management.
