Clinical Assistant Professor (Exercise Science)

Location: Kingsville, Texas, United States; on-campus and online instruction may be required.

What you will do

• Teach assigned undergraduate and graduate courses, including Motor Development/Motor Learning, Measurement and Evaluation in Kinesiology, Introduction to Exercise Science, Biomechanics, Introductory Research Methods, and Seminar in Exercise Science.
• Deliver instruction in on-campus and online formats as needed while maintaining high standards of teaching effectiveness and student engagement.
• Develop syllabi, assignments, assessments, and other course materials aligned with departmental expectations.
• Contribute to departmental participation, student support, curriculum initiatives, compliance processes, meetings, research, and university service.

Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Exercise Science or a closely related field from an accredited university.
• Effective oral and written communication, presentation, interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to interact positively and professionally with clients, staff, and groups of various sizes.
• Knowledge of teaching and instructional methods, learning and active listening strategies, and inductive and deductive reasoning.
• Ability to facilitate and adapt courses and course content and work cooperatively with others.
• Working knowledge of office software and instructional programs.
• Ability to obtain export-control authorization before starting employment.
• Ability to comply with applicable state and federal laws, codes, Texas A&M University System and TAMU policies, regulations, rules, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Ability to pass a criminal history investigation and institutional verification of credentials and other required information.

Nice to have

• 3–5 years of full-time college or university teaching experience.
• Experience teaching through online, hybrid, HyFlex, and lab-based instructional modalities.
• Sport, clinical, or fitness industry experience.
• Familiarity with ACSM Guidelines.
