Manager - Line Maintenance Planning Ops (Aviation)

Location: Arlington Heights or Chicago, Illinois, United States; available in 8 locations. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship. Reliable, punctual attendance is essential.

Base pay: $130,824–$159,896 per year; eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.

What you will do

• Develop and implement strategic initiatives covering fleet growth, station resource utilization, maintenance program optimization, and standard processes.
• Create and maintain training programs, syllabi, IT platforms, and recurrent training for the Line Planning team.
• Create and maintain departmental standard operating procedures.
• Develop team schedules and vacation bid processes while ensuring overtime goals are met.
• Act as the subject-matter expert for digital tools, communicating and training the team on new technology and enhancements.
• Identify staffing requirements, coordinate with operating managers and HR to fill vacancies, support the Senior Manager with strategic and tactical projects, and provide backup Operating Manager coverage.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Airframe and Powerplant License and/or an aviation or aerospace-related field.
• 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• Strong knowledge of project and time management concepts.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
• Successful completion of an interview and reliable, punctual attendance.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• LEAN or Six Sigma experience.
• Project management experience.
• 3 years of leadership experience in aircraft maintenance planning or aircraft maintenance.
• Knowledge of data analysis tools such as Palantir Foundry.
• Understanding of the capabilities and limitations of generative AI tools, with the ability to use them for research, analysis, content creation, and problem-solving while validating outputs and following responsible AI, data privacy, and security policies.
