Manager - Accounting (Hybrid)

Location: Hybrid in Chicago, Illinois, United States; requires 3 days per week in the office.

Salary: Base pay range of $102,220.00–$133,194.00 per year, plus eligibility for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.

What you will do

• Supervise accounting operations and oversee the preparation, recording, analysis, and reporting of accounting transactions.
• Support month-end close and quarterly and annual reporting activities.
• Develop accounting estimates for accruals, provisions, and impairment activities, and maintain accrual models using invoice trends, consumption patterns, and budget alignment.
• Lead root cause analysis for reconciliation discrepancies and implement corrective process improvements.
• Coordinate statutory filings, local GAAP adjustments, and collaboration with external consultants.
• Implement internal controls for high-risk accounts and support accounting transformation initiatives, financial forecasting, variance analysis, and accounting-related projects.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience preparing, maintaining, and reconciling general ledger accounts and financial statements.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including IFRS and GAAP.
• Experience supporting financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
• Successful completion of an interview is required to meet the job qualifications.
• Reliable and punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.

Nice to have

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Knowledge of process automation and financial management systems.
• Exposure to transformation initiatives, internal controls, or regulatory compliance programs.
• Understanding of the capabilities and limitations of generative AI tools, with the ability to use them for research, analysis, content creation, and problem-solving.
• Ability to validate AI-generated outputs using critical thinking while following company policies on responsible AI use, data privacy, and security.
