Principal Quality Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote; hiring in Peru, Uruguay, Mexico, and Colombia, including Mexico City and Bogota. Requires overlap hours with US-facing partners.

Base salary: $80,000–$100,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Own and evolve the company-wide quality engineering roadmap and quality accountability framework for engineers, engineering managers, and product managers.
• Define test strategy across unit, component, contract, API, end-to-end, mobile, performance, load, accessibility, and non-functional testing.
• Build and improve AI-native quality tooling, including agents and Claude Code-style workflows for test generation, code review, and quality guidance.
• Own CI/CD quality gates, E2E and visual regression pipelines, performance budgets, and mobile automation across emulators and real-device clouds.
• Connect monitoring with incident response and build quality dashboards used by engineering teams.
• Mentor QA engineers across squads, lead the QA discipline technically, and provide input to engineering managers for performance reviews.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience using AI for quality engineering, including AI-generated tests and agentic tooling such as Claude Code or MCP-based workflows.
• Ability to design testing approaches appropriate to a team’s maturity without imposing frameworks or coverage targets without context.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining component, contract, API, end-to-end, and performance test suites.
• Ability to build and maintain CI pipelines and quality tooling, troubleshoot pipeline blockers, and ship infrastructure improvements.
• Experience coaching engineers on testing practices and running enablement sessions.
• Ability to lead through technical influence without direct reports and mentor QA engineers across multiple squads.
