Software Quality Engineering Manager (AI)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, hire, and develop a team of SDETs, including performance management and career development.
• Support multiple Scrum delivery teams with estimation, planning, and testing strategy for web and mobile applications.
• Own release management, test coverage, defect reporting, and quality metrics across products.
• Establish and scale automated UI and API testing frameworks for frontend and backend applications.
• Define QA practices for AI-native features, including LLM and agent-output validation, hallucination detection, grounding, guardrails, fallback behavior, and prompt-injection resistance.
• Drive QA best practices, process improvement, tool evaluation, automation initiatives, and regression prevention across engineering teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant development or testing experience, including 7+ years in quality roles testing and automating large-scale, customer-facing systems with sophisticated distributed integrations.
• 3+ years managing SDETs responsible for qualifying features across the complete software development lifecycle.
• Excellent knowledge of QE automation architecture, methodologies, processes, and tools.
• Hands-on experience building QE automation frameworks for frontend and backend applications using tools such as Cucumber, Selenium, Rest Assured, TestNG, and SOAPUI.
• Experience creating multiple test frameworks from scratch; proficiency in Java or Python; and familiarity with databases, SQL, and scripting languages.
• Understanding of REST and RESTful services, Agile Scrum delivery, and remote or distributed teamwork.
• Ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams, improve processes through automation, increase test coverage, reduce customer-impacting defects, make risk-based decisions, and mentor engineers.
• Minimum AI proficiency level L5: advanced use of AI across QA, test automation, defect analysis, test-data generation, and quality-risk assessment.
• Experience using AI to generate and expand test cases, accelerate automation development and debugging, analyze logs and defects, generate edge-case data, and evaluate coverage and release-quality metrics.
• Experience with Claude is required, and AI-generated outputs must be critically reviewed and validated before testing or release decisions.
