QA Engineer (Software)

Location: Hybrid role based at the hirify.global Tech Hub in Alicante, Spain, with two fully remote weeks per year.

What you will do

• Design, maintain, and continuously improve automated testing solutions aligned with product and customer requirements.
• Define and execute functional, regression, API, performance, and other non-functional testing strategies.
• Identify quality risks, analyze defects, prepare test reporting, and support release readiness.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, developers, infrastructure, service teams, and technical leads in a Scrum-based Agile environment.
• Embed quality-by-design practices throughout requirements, test design, automation, release, and continuous improvement activities.
• Scale test automation and explore AI-enabled approaches, including GitHub Copilot and other automation assistants.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a QA Automation Engineer or in a similar Quality Assurance role.
• Strong experience in UI test automation, API testing, BDD, CI/CD pipelines, and performance or non-functional testing.
• Solid knowledge of QA best practices, test strategy and design, defect analysis, test reporting, and release readiness.
• Experience with scripting or programming languages and web technologies such as JavaScript, Java, Ruby, or Python.
• Experience working in Agile environments, ideally Scrum or Lean, and collaborating with business and technical stakeholders.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, prioritization, and continuous-improvement skills.
• Customer-focused, results-oriented, proactive, self-driven, curious, adaptable, and interested in innovation and AI-enabled ways of working.
