Lead Software Developer

Location: Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada (office-based)

Salary: CAD 118,000–168,000 per year

Develop enterprise information management software and services spanning cloud platforms, SaaS, analytics, legal technology, content management, business networks, and cybersecurity.

What you will do

• Contribute to a next-generation information management platform that enables internal and external developers to build multi-tenant SaaS applications.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve cloud-first software infrastructure and solutions.
• Bridge product development and cloud operations, accelerating time to market, improving reliability, managing technology obsolescence, and reducing software failures.
• Embed continuous integration, continuous deployment, continuous testing, and continuous monitoring practices.
• Work with internal engineering and operations teams and geographically dispersed stakeholders to support maintained platforms and applications.
• Mentor junior developers on code design, testing, and engineering standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, with 5+ years of relevant software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java, including Spring and Spring Boot, plus solid software engineering fundamentals.
• Expertise in database programming and messaging protocols.
• Experience designing and integrating REST-based APIs for system interoperability.
• Experience developing and maintaining cloud-based services on Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with back-end application development and building maintainable cloud code, including web services.
• Experience applying DevOps and Agile practices, including CI/CD tools for automated testing and deployment across multiple stakeholders and SaaS applications.
• Strong communication, proactive ownership, adaptability, teamwork, and the ability to remain level-headed in pressured environments.

Nice to have

• Front-end development experience with React hooks and context, JavaScript ES6+, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Ability to build scalable, high-performance, accessible, responsive, and cross-browser-compatible user interfaces.
