Senior Data Center Engineer

What you will do

• Maintain the reliability and technical integration of electrical infrastructure and HVAC systems supporting 24/7 mission-critical data center operations.
• Own the end-to-end design of power systems, including dual power-fed high-reliability substations, medium-to-low voltage distribution, and UPS systems.
• Supervise generators, switchgear, transformers, automatic transfer switches, UPS systems, and related critical equipment.
• Work with vendors, approve work, manage projects, and oversee electricians and maintenance activities.
• Maintain mechanical data center infrastructure, including cooling and ventilation systems.
• Investigate and implement renewable energy sources and carbon-free technologies in the facility power architecture.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of professional engineering experience, preferably in a Data Centre Services environment.
• BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with open- and closed-loop cooling systems, computer room air conditioners, fresh air supply, ventilation, and extraction.
• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Knowledge of mechanical dampers and controls associated with fire systems.
• Knowledge of data center electrical power supply and distribution systems, including UPS systems.
• Experience deploying large inventories of server, network, and infrastructure equipment in a production environment.
