Sr. Software Developer (Java)

Location: Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 98,080–147,120 per year; actual salary may vary based on education, experience, skills, geographical location, internal equity, and market conditions.

What you will do

• Maintain existing capabilities and deliver quality features across cloud and on-premise product suites.
• Own and deliver projects aligned with the team’s quarterly cadence and client success goals.
• Decompose client problems into designs involving multiple interacting software components.
• Develop scalable, performant, and configurable enterprise software using microservices, Java, Kafka, relational databases, and hyperscale cloud platforms.
• Identify issues affecting client needs, recommend technical solutions, and collaborate with the manager on corrections.
• Serve as a technical lead and support the development of less experienced team members.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of previous professional experience, including 6+ years developing and delivering enterprise software products.
• Strong proficiency in Java/J2EE, Spring Web Services, and SOAP/REST APIs.
• Experience with web development using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and REST APIs.
• Experience with GWT/GXT, AJAX, JSON, and JAXB serialization.
• Experience with relational databases, object-oriented design, and modeling techniques.
• Experience designing Docker container solutions and deploying them to enterprise orchestration platforms.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V.
• Familiarity with Git, GitLab, Maven, JUnit, Selenium, and Apache Tomcat.
• Experience with continuous integration, automated testing, performance testing, and quality assurance.
• Understanding of AI concepts and their application to development challenges.
• Strong coding and problem-solving skills for scalable, performant, and configurable software.
