Engineering Intern-Engine Development

Location: Waukesha, WI, USA; office-based role with occasional travel to other hirify.global facilities.

What you will do

• Support engineers with special product development and design requests for generator and power tool products.
• Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, and bills of materials.
• Support product development plans, including schedules, product costs, and design inputs.
• Design, test, validate, and integrate standard, less complex components and evaluate effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.
• Develop and evaluate fitness-for-use testing, product specifications, process validation plans, material part specifications, and bills of materials.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a BS degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
• Understanding of or working knowledge of Creo.
• Basic knowledge of internal combustion engines.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and succinctly.
• Ability to work 15–20 hours during the school year and full time during school breaks.
• Ability to work in an office environment involving computer-based work, standing, walking, hand manipulation, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
