Senior Design Engineer (Mechanical Components)

Location: Mossville, Illinois, United States; onsite five days a week. Domestic relocation is available. Travel of 20% or less is expected.

Salary: $112,710–$169,060 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the mechanical design and development of motor and generator components and assemblies.
• Apply component design, materials selection, thermal-mechanical interface, tolerance, and design-for-manufacturing principles.
• Translate product requirements into detailed mechanical component and assembly requirements with system, electrical, manufacturing, and validation teams.
• Lead design analysis, FMEA, product risk management, design reviews, and verification planning.
• Use engineering analysis, simulation, prototype builds, and physical testing to mature designs and resolve technical issues.
• Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, simulation, and validation teams to implement new designs and product changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical design, product development, computer-aided design and engineering, and manufacturing-oriented product design.
• Ability to analyze technical problems, identify root causes, develop solutions, and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to design, build, and develop products from concept through production.
• Ability to work onsite in Mossville, Illinois, five days per week.
