Manufacturing Design Engineering Internship

What you will do

• Create detailed work instructions and training documentation for manufacturing and bring-up processes.
• Support Value Stream Mapping and establish baseline process timing for products and processes.
• Identify process gaps and develop countermeasures to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Support daily operations engineering activities focused on manufacturing processes and improvement areas.
• Design and fabricate fixtures and tools for cell build and bring-up.
• Report to the Senior Manufacturing Engineer and collaborate with engineers and manufacturing technicians.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a BS in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field at an ABET-accredited university.
• Interest in manufacturing and familiarity with manufacturing processes such as assembly, welding, and CNC machining.
• Experience working with CAD.
• Strong attention to detail, process improvement and problem-solving skills, and interest in hands-on learning.
• Strong communication skills for collecting knowledge from engineers and manufacturing technicians.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Columbus, Ohio.
