Manufacturing Design Engineering Internship (Robotics)

Location: Columbus, Ohio, United States. The role may involve access to export-controlled information and may require compliance with U.S. export control regulations, including meeting the definition of a “U.S. Person” where required.

What you will do

• Interface with customers to receive, interpret, and transfer CAD models into Path’s proprietary system.
• Modify and clean up CAD files for autonomous weld planning.
• Collaborate with engineering and software teams to troubleshoot model-related integration issues.
• Develop and prototype fixturing concepts and part setups for automated welding.
• Implement creative design solutions to improve manufacturability and system performance.
• Document processes and lessons learned for knowledge sharing and system improvement.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar tools.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented approach, bias toward action, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to comply with applicable federal regulations, including FAR and DFARS where applicable, and U.S. export control regulations when required.
• Adherence to company and federal data protection and confidentiality standards.
• Successful completion of a background check may be required.
