Owner Construction Manager (Power Generation)

Location: Valparaiso, Indiana, United States; onsite construction role. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary: $133,400–$200,100 per year.

What you will do

• Serve as the owner’s primary onsite representative and lead project execution across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations.
• Direct contractors, consultants, engineering firms, suppliers, and internal partners while maintaining alignment with approved project objectives.
• Oversee construction safety, quality, inspections, testing, punch-list closure, schedule progress, cost tracking, forecasting, payment applications, and change control.
• Administer contracts, evaluate notices and claims, manage risks, and ensure compliance with permits, environmental commitments, regulatory requirements, and approved designs.
• Coordinate with executives, operations, engineering, contractors, customers, landowners, regulators, authorities, and community representatives to resolve issues and communicate project status.
• Support commissioning, startup, operational readiness, turnover documentation, final closeout, and emergency response efforts when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in utility, power generation, transmission, substation, renewable energy, industrial construction, or related infrastructure.
• 5+ years of experience managing large capital projects.
• Experience with EPC, EPCM, or multiple-prime contracting strategies.
• Experience with utility-scale generation, transmission, substations, renewable energy, battery storage, or major infrastructure projects.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with projects valued at $50 million or more.
• PMP, CCM, PE, OSHA 30-Hour, or relevant utility/power industry certification.
