Network/Cloud Engineer (DevSecOps/Security)

What you will do

• Evaluate AWS, Azure, hybrid-cloud, and on-premises architectures across compute, storage, networking, managed services, environments, high availability, disaster recovery, and cloud cost optimization.
• Review CI/CD pipelines, testing, artifact management, deployment strategies, rollback procedures, security integration, compliance validation, and delivery bottlenecks.
• Assess Infrastructure-as-Code, configuration management, environment provisioning, policy-as-code, immutable infrastructure, container orchestration, and configuration drift.
• Evaluate IAM, RBAC, MFA, PAM, secrets management, SIEM, logging, threat detection, SOAR, incident response, vulnerability management, NIST controls, RMF, and continuous monitoring.
• Identify legacy technology risks and develop remediation and migration roadmaps covering upgrades, containerization, refactoring, replacement, and interim security controls.
• Develop technical narratives, architecture diagrams, pipeline visualizations, security control mappings, maturity findings, and recommendations for engineering and executive audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of infrastructure, cloud, and security engineering experience across hybrid-cloud and on-premises environments.
• Hands-on experience architecting and implementing AWS and/or Azure solutions covering compute, storage, networking, databases, and security.
• Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps workflows, and automated deployment strategies.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates, Ansible, or similar platforms.
• Deep understanding of security control implementation across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Experience assessing technical maturity, identifying gaps, and recommending practical modernization strategies.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate complex technical environments and convert findings into actionable recommendations.
• Ability to obtain DHS Entry on Duty (EOD) clearance.

Nice to have

• FedRAMP authorization, security assessment, continuous monitoring, and compliance documentation experience.
• Knowledge of NIST RMF, ATO processes, federal security control baselines, DHS cloud policies, TIC 3.0, and DHS Enterprise Architecture standards.
• Experience with zero-trust architecture, software-defined perimeters, micro-segmentation, and identity-centric security.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, ECS, AKS, service mesh architectures, API gateways, observability platforms, security automation, SAST/DAST, dependency scanning, and compliance-as-code.
• AWS, Azure, security, or DevOps/DevSecOps certifications.
• Experience supporting federal IT modernization or cloud migration programs.
• Background in SRE practices and chaos engineering.
