Graduate Silicon Engineer (AI Chips) 2027

Location: Bristol or Cambridge, UK. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the programme and must not require visa sponsorship.

Salary: £45,000 per annum. Start date: September 2027.

What you will do

• Join one of four specialist silicon teams: logical design, verification, physical design, or design for test.
• Contribute to real chip development and learn how advanced AI chips are designed, verified, and prepared for manufacture.
• Work on RTL design, SoC integration, verification methods, physical implementation, or DFT depending on the assigned team.
• Use industry-standard electronic design automation tools and take ownership of clearly defined engineering tasks.
• Develop practical silicon engineering skills through hands-on work, feedback, reviews, and problem solving.

Requirements

• On track for or already holding a degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Maths, or a related subject.
• Good coding skills in C, C++, or Python.
• Interest in digital design, ASICs, verification, physical design, computer architecture, or AI compute.
• Motivation to learn modern silicon design techniques and EDA tools.
• Evidence of relevant skills through coursework, a dissertation, personal or team projects, hobbies, internships, work experience, or other relevant experience.
• Must already have the right to work in the UK for the full programme without requiring visa sponsorship.
