Sr. Software DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Mounds View, Minnesota, United States of America; onsite at least 4 days per week. Other listed location: Newton, Massachusetts, United States of America. Candidates below Principal level must possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and throughout employment.

Salary: USD 136,800–205,200 annually. The position is eligible for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Maintain and improve build systems, developer tools, CI/CD infrastructure, and build agents in Bitbucket/Bamboo environments.
• Automate software deployment and infrastructure management for native applications and cloud services.
• Establish and maintain monitoring and logging systems, including dashboards and pipelines, to support system health and performance.
• Troubleshoot development, test, and production environments to maintain availability and performance.
• Integrate DevOps practices into Python, C++, and QT application development and collaborate with engineering teams.
• Document processes and configurations and contribute to disaster recovery, risk management, data protection, and medical software regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a PhD with 0 years of relevant experience.
• Extensive experience using build systems to enhance software deployment across platforms, including CMake, Bazel, and other tools.
• Experience with build systems such as CMake, ROS/Catkin, and/or Bazel.
• Experience designing, implementing, and managing DevOps practices within healthcare, medical device, or robotics software environments.
• Experience with AWS cloud services, scalable CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, JFrog Artifactory, and Grafana or similar monitoring systems.
• Programming proficiency in Python and C++.
• Experience with automation, configuration management, monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and infrastructure management.

Nice to have

• Experience building monitoring dashboards with Grafana.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, Bash, or similar languages.
• Experience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar configuration management tools.
• Expertise in AWS services and infrastructure, including EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, CDK, and CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of network protocols and services.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, FDA regulations, and security frameworks relevant to medical device software.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, proactive solution-finding, and team-working skills.
• Ability to provide DevOps, cloud architecture, and security guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
