DevOps Engineer (AI)

Location: New York, NY, United States; in-office role with relocation support to NYC.

Salary: $190K–$240K annually.

What you will do

• Own and improve production infrastructure on AWS, including Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, S3, networking, IAM, and load balancing.
• Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform and build CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions for Rails, Python, and TypeScript services, including migrations and automated testing.
• Expand observability with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana, and investigate incidents through root-cause analysis and lasting fixes.
• Improve deployment safety through automated checks, progressive rollouts, rollback paths, and reliable release workflows.
• Partner with product engineers on local development, test environments, capacity, reliability, cloud spend, and production operations.
• Help define incident response, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices, and participate in a shared on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building and operating production infrastructure for a software product.
• Strong AWS experience covering networking, compute, storage, databases, and IAM.
• Experience running containerized workloads on Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform, Pulumi, or a similar tool.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong instincts for observability, incident investigation, and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to automate operational work in Python, shell, or another language.
• Strong security judgment when working with customers’ financial data.
• Ability to turn complex operational problems into simple, maintainable solutions.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting SOC 2 or similar compliance programs.
• Experience with financial, payment, or other sensitive-data systems.
• Experience at an early-stage, high-growth B2B SaaS company.
