Reconciliation Operations (RecOps) Specialist

Location: Cardiff; hybrid arrangement with 3 days a week in the office and 2 days at home. The role covers customer-facing money movements across the UK and US.

Salary: £30,000–£34,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Own the daily reconciliation of customer-facing money movements across banks, payment partners, card processors, and internal systems.
• Investigate unmatched items and reconciliation breaks, working with Operations, Customer Support, TechOps, Data, Engineering, and other teams to resolve them.
• Maintain current reconciliations with clear ownership, ageing of open items, and sign-off evidence.
• Report on reconciliation status, break volumes, ageing, and root causes.
• Review reconciliation processes and assess whether related controls are designed and operating effectively; recommend and implement improvements.
• Reconcile payments requiring safeguarding daily and report on them at the end of each day.

Requirements

• Understanding of how payments move and settle.
• Ability to work independently to strict deadlines.
• Good Google Sheets or Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to finding the root cause of reconciliation breaks.
• Experience using AI tools to support work.
