Finance Systems Engineering Manager (Workday Financials)

What you will do

• Own Workday Financials administration, platform optimization, feature adoption, and system maintenance.
• Manage change requests and support tickets with related teams and stakeholders.
• Maintain management and statutory reporting, reporting hierarchies, accounting alignment, and reliable financial data.
• Review and redesign business processes, reduce complexity, automate manual workflows, and apply AI-led improvements.
• Maintain documentation, technical playbooks, training initiatives, integrations, security groups, audit trails, and segregation-of-duties controls.
• Oversee future finance systems projects, third-party system integrators, vendor relationships, and service-level agreements.

Requirements

• Workday Financials knowledge and experience, including the Workday Expenses module and integrations for banks, FX, and other systems.
• Engineering excellence, coding, processing understanding, and process redesign experience.
• Experience with systems implementation, configuration, development, and support.
• Business process analysis skills and a flexible approach with willingness to constructively challenge existing practices.
• Interest in excellent end-user experience and automation.
• Understanding of how to prompt LLMs and use APIs, with interest in deploying AI agents to replace repetitive human processes.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with competing deadlines.
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across Finance, People, Engineering, Security, and other teams.
• Advanced Excel, database, and programming skills.

Nice to have

• Accounting knowledge or part-qualified/qualified Finance professional status.
• Experience in a systems role within an SME enterprise.
• Previous experience in the software SaaS industry.
