Director, Data Insights

Location: New York, NY; candidates requiring visa transfer sponsorship must currently be in the U.S.

Base salary: $250,000–$280,000 per year, plus annual bonus and company equity plan.

What you will do

• Advise C-suite executives and external stakeholders on high-stakes decisions, defend findings, negotiate priorities, and provide strategic counsel.
• Translate data science and engineering outputs into board-ready presentations and business narratives for major decisions.
• Drive the shift from a data-aware to a data-driven organization by challenging assumptions and supporting evidence-based pivots.
• Use data as an objective source of truth to navigate conflicts between departments and build consensus.
• Partner with the data team to align its technical roadmap with the highest-value business outcomes.
• Perform quick analytics with agentic tools when needed for high-pressure leadership discussions.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading high-level discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of data science workflows, analytics engineering, and statistical significance, even without daily coding.
• Exceptional ability to visualize data and create compelling slide decks or memos for executive audiences.
• Deep understanding of how businesses generate revenue and how data can optimize those levers.
• Ability to leverage agentic tools for rapid analytics during high-pressure leadership discussions.
