Senior Analytics Data Engineer (P&C)

Location: Hybrid; on-site 3 days per week at Bethesda, MD; Lakeland, FL; Tampa, FL; Chicago, IL; Buffalo, NY; Melville, NY; New York City, NY; or Virginia Beach, VA.

Annual salary: $91,225–$189,625.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain data delivery solutions, including datasets, extracts, reports, dashboards, and critical data pipelines.
• Design scalable data models and architectures using data warehouses, data marts, data lakes, lakehouses, and related delivery patterns.
• Build, test, optimize, automate, and support ETL/ELT processes using dbt, Azure Data Factory, or related technologies.
• Write, debug, optimize, and maintain advanced SQL queries and data pipelines, including root cause analysis and performance tuning.
• Support SAS migrations to technologies such as dbt and Power BI, as well as data and database migrations, testing, validation, deployment, and post-implementation support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, contribute to development standards and documentation, coordinate project delivery, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Property & Casualty (P&C) claims data or analytics experience, or experience in the P&C insurance industry.
• Proficiency developing data pipelines with dbt, GitHub, and Airflow, or similar technologies.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to multitask and learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site three days per week at one of the specified office locations.
