Senior Analytics Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in the United States; employees must be available to work from an office hub at least two days per week or eight days per month. US hubs: Austin, TX; New York City, NY; San Francisco, CA; and the Washington, DC metro area.

Base salary: $176,000–$220,000 for New York City and San Francisco; $158,000–$198,000 for all other locations. Compensation is base salary only and excludes equity, bonuses, and benefits.

What you will do

• Architect, build, and maintain reliable data products, including dbt models, pipelines, Looker explores, and visualizations.
• Build and maintain ELT pipelines from source systems to data warehouses.
• Shape the analytical roadmap and deliver self-service business intelligence at scale.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to analytics engineers while promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and quality.
• Improve data discoverability, observability, lineage, stewardship, security, and protection of sensitive information.
• Identify and implement AI opportunities, including intelligent pipeline monitoring, automated data quality checks, AI-assisted development, and responsible AI governance.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant data engineering and/or analytics engineering experience.
• Advanced SQL skills and at least 5 years of deep experience with Snowflake or a similar database.
• Expertise in data modeling and ETL/ELT; dbt is preferred and pipeline development is a plus.
• At least 5 years of experience with a modern business intelligence tool; Looker is preferred.
• Experience applying software engineering principles such as testing, version control, code reviews, and CI/CD to analytical development.
• Experience working with data teams in a fast-paced startup environment and collaborating cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to solve ambiguous, open-ended problems and drive projects through implementation, completion, stakeholder education, and onboarding.
• Strong focus on data protection and privacy, including PII, GDPR, FedRAMP, or FIPS.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools in development workflows, such as Claude Code, Cursor, AI-assisted dbt, or AI-assisted SQL development.
