Data Engineer (Azure/Databricks)

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio, United States; hybrid schedule with work in the Cincinnati office required

Salary: $85,000–$122,200 per year, plus potential bonus and benefits

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement cloud-based data and analytics platforms and pipelines.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest, cleanse, transform, and publish data.
• Integrate data platforms with APIs, databases, files, third-party services, and downstream applications.
• Own solutions end to end, including design, implementation, monitoring, support, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with business stakeholders, architects, and analytics teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Improve data engineering standards for code quality, testing, CI/CD, reusability, reliability, and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience in data engineering or a closely related field.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, with knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT design, and distributed data processing.
• Understanding of modern cloud platforms, particularly Azure and/or GCP, and experience integrating APIs, databases, and external services.
• Experience with Git-based workflows, development tools, and CI/CD for data pipelines.
• Ability to work in the Cincinnati, Ohio office on a hybrid schedule; immigration sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and PySpark or Spark.
• Experience with Power BI and software engineering beyond pure data pipelines.
• Databricks, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud data engineering certifications.
