What you will do

• Present news stories and other content across all platforms while maintaining journalistic integrity and production quality.
• Write, deliver, research, copy edit, and coordinate news stories and programming.
• Produce newscasts, communicate direction to team members, and guide, direct, motivate, coach, and mentor others.
• Act as a field reporter, conduct interviews, and respond to breaking news and urgent newsroom situations.
• Write website and eMedia content, edit assigned video clips, and interact with viewers on social media.
• Participate in promotional activities, public appearances, special projects, and other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Two to five years of experience in news reporting or anchoring, depending on market size.
• Fluency in English and excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to ad lib when required.
• Superior on-air presence and excellent news judgment, with extensive knowledge of local and national current events, history, newsmakers, and issues.
• Ability to guide, direct, and motivate others, and to identify developmental needs and coach or mentor colleagues.
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and other office equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, handle multiple tasks, listen effectively, understand problems, and collaborate on solutions.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Flexibility to work any shift.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
