Activity Coordinator - Programming (Student Activities/Event Programming): Coordinating campus events and Anchor Camp while advising student leaders, supervising program staff, and supporting university traditions with an accent on large-scale programming, orientation development, and event risk management. Focus on developing student leadership, managing budgets and logistics, and delivering concerts, welcome weeks, Family Weekend, and other campus-wide events.

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas, United States; onsite role

Salary: $43,888 annually, approximately $3,657.34 monthly

What you will do

  • Advise the Campus Activities Board by providing leadership, training, support, and event programming guidance.
  • Plan and support large-scale campus events, including concerts, welcome weeks, Fall Beach Bash, Family Weekend, Islander Lights, and Homecoming.
  • Coordinate the three-day Anchor Camp, including curriculum, student staffing, training, facilities, logistics, and risk management.
  • Recruit, select, supervise, and develop student leaders, program assistants, and volunteers.
  • Coordinate marketing and social media for Campus Activities Board, Anchor Camp, and team events.
  • Track budgets, assess programs, collaborate with university departments, and represent Student Activities on committees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • At least one year of progressively responsible experience developing and implementing student activities, orientations, or similar programs.
  • Leadership experience in an undergraduate or graduate student organization.
  • Experience planning, implementing, and evaluating small- to large-scale university events and student leadership training.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, multitasking, and conflict-management skills, with the ability to interpret policies and work within budget limits.
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in higher education or a related field.
  • Experience with a programming board or extended orientation camp.
  • Experience developing marketing strategies and comprehensive calendars of student-centered events.
  • Experience with entertainment agents and contract negotiation.
  • Knowledge of risk management, experiential learning, and assessment techniques.
