Software Engineer II, Supplier Advertising (Java/React)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid work schedule required by the team.

Annual base pay: CAD 151,411–CAD 169,169. Equity, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation may also be provided.

What you will do

• Build enterprise-grade supplier advertising and Sponsored Experience applications for onsite and offsite advertising.
• Design Java APIs and backend applications using Java-based microservices and Spring Boot.
• Design and build React frontend applications for supplier experiences.
• Monitor the technical and operational health of the platform using DataDog.
• Review code and technical designs while helping develop engineers on the Agile team.
• Translate ecommerce product requirements into technical solutions across the full development lifecycle.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with Java and React, including frontend and backend application development and technical design from start to finish.
• Deep understanding of atomic design and reusable components, functional programming, and JavaScript best practices.
• Experience with cloud-native architecture platforms such as Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases, event-driven architectures, domain-driven design, and test-driven development.
• Experience and desire to work in an Agile environment, with an analytical mindset and interest in solving business problems through technology.
• Experience with Big Data technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with system monitoring tools such as DataDog.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python and JavaScript.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and platforms such as Buildkite, Docker, or Kubernetes.
