Senior Editor (Video Editing)

What you will do

• Edit daily news stories, breaking news, and special reports using non-linear, computer-based editing equipment.
• Manage the editing team, coordinate assignments, and create schedules to ensure coverage and meet production deadlines.
• Work with reporters and producers to match video to scripts and strengthen storytelling.
• Select video from feeds and archives, coordinate with producers and the control room for timely on-air delivery, and organize video for archiving.
• Work with Content Management and Engineering to track and resolve technical incidents; perform weekly file maintenance according to retention policies.
• Support other departments and affiliates, improve workflows and video quality, and work shifts including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communications or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least two years of video editing experience.
• Expert knowledge of Avid Media Composer and iNEWS rundowns.
• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage editors, coordinate assignments, and create schedules.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
