Staff Systems Engineer (Home Standby)

What you will do

• Integrate mechanical, electronic, and embedded firmware subsystems into complete Home Standby products.
• Partner with radio, controller, engine, manufacturing, applications, and engineering teams to define subsystem interfaces and resolve integration issues.
• Gather stakeholder needs and define, document, communicate, maintain, and manage system-level requirements using Codebeamer.
• Develop system architecture, block and boundary diagrams, system inputs and outputs, and Interface Control Documents.
• Define verification and validation strategies, ensuring test plans and results demonstrate that system requirements are met.
• Lead technical design and integration reviews, manage risks and dependencies, mentor less experienced engineers, and drive technical plans through completion.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience, including systems engineering or systems integration for complex products with interacting mechanical, electrical/electronic, and embedded firmware subsystems.

Nice to have

• Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline.
• INCOSE certification.
• Experience with Home Standby generators, power management systems, or complex products combining mechanical, electrical/electronic, controls, and embedded firmware subsystems.
• Experience with systems engineering and requirements management in a product development environment, including the V-model.
• Codebeamer experience for requirements management, traceability, and verification tracking.
• Creo or comparable 3D CAD experience such as SolidWorks.
• JIRA and Confluence experience.
• Experience with radio communications, controllers, engine control modules, manufacturing integration, or connected applications.
• Experience creating system architecture documents, including block diagrams, boundary diagrams, schematics, interconnect diagrams, and Interface Control Documents.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and translate technical information for varied audiences.
• Knowledge of electrical power systems, electromechanical packaging, and applicable regulatory standards.
