TL;DR

Data Engineer (Healthcare): Building scalable data integration, database, and processing solutions for healthcare organizations with an accent on ETL pipelines, relational and NoSQL databases, performance tuning, and data quality. Focus on optimizing high-volume OLTP systems, resolving complex data stability issues, and maintaining security and HIPAA compliance.

Location: Remote in Singapore

What you will do

Acquire, integrate, map, and validate data from multiple source systems.
Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance relational and NoSQL database solutions.
Develop and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines while building sustainable solutions with minimal defects and technical debt.
Evaluate and optimize system architecture, SQL queries, indexes, and stored procedures to improve uptime, responsiveness, and efficiency.
Troubleshoot complex data issues and database stability problems, and participate in code reviews.
Apply unit and regression testing, security controls, privacy requirements, and HIPAA compliance practices.

Requirements

Proficiency in SQL and relational database principles.
4+ years of experience with RDBMS such as SQL Server or Oracle, including SQL optimization techniques.
Experience with ETL concepts, data integration, and troubleshooting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with high-volume OLTP environments and performance tuning strategies.
Working knowledge of NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB or Elasticsearch.
Exposure to cloud platforms, with Microsoft Azure preferred.
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

Experience with stored procedures, T-SQL, and SSIS.
Knowledge of HL7, CCD documents, and EDI X12 claims processing.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Understanding of XML, JSON, and REST API integration.
Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop.
Git and version control proficiency.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in technology or healthcare-related data engineering roles.
