Staff Engineer (Go)

hirify.global develops crypto transaction risk and compliance tools for financial institutions, fintechs, exchanges, and other crypto organizations. The product uses decentralized identity technology to make crypto transfers safer and support regulatory compliance.

What you will do

• Design and build core components of the Go-based transaction platform.
• Ensure correctness under failure, tenant isolation, auditability, predictable latency, and healthy database performance.
• Scale transaction processing as volumes and the number of institutions per node grow.
• Write design documents, review designs and code, and collaborate with product, compliance, and customer-facing teams.
• Use AI coding agents daily and improve specifications, context, and review practices for safe agent-written code.
• Own production operations, including tracing, alerts, incident follow-ups, on-call participation, and mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• Deep systems-design experience owning distributed systems where correctness is more important than features, including asynchronous processing and failure handling.
• Strong Go experience, or deep production experience with Java, Kotlin, Rust, or C# and the ability to begin shipping Go within the first weeks.
• In-depth PostgreSQL experience covering schema design, query plans, locking, isolation levels, live-system migrations, and multi-tenant data.
• Cloud ownership experience with AWS or GCP, including IAM, networking, managed databases, queues, storage, Terraform, traces, and production logs.
• Daily use of coding agents such as Claude Code or Cursor, including writing specifications and context, decomposing work, reviewing output, and understanding agent failure modes.
• Staff-level experience delivering large, technically difficult projects end to end and helping other engineers improve; typically 8+ years building backend systems.
• Clear, concise writing for decisions made through documents and asynchronous communication.
• Security fundamentals for sensitive data, including encryption in transit and at rest, key handling, personal-data minimization, and least-privilege access.

Nice to have

• Applied cryptography, including encryption, signing, and key management.
• Decentralized identity technologies such as DIDs, verifiable credentials, and DIDComm.
• Experience with regulated finance, payments, or compliance topics such as Travel Rule, AML, and ISO 20022.
• Experience building and operating software under SOC 2 or ISO 27001 controls.
• Crypto and blockchain knowledge, including chains, addresses, assets, and CAIP identifiers.
• Node.js, TypeScript, queue and workflow systems, and modern observability tooling.
