Senior Cyber Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States. Full-time onsite, Monday-Friday; no telework or alternate work location is available. Work hours start between 6am and 9am, with occasional weekend support for installations and upgrades.

Base salary: $151,800–$187,500 USD per year, plus bonus plans.

What you will do

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and RHEL 8.x systems supporting hirify.global appliances in physical and virtual environments.
• Create, maintain, and troubleshoot virtual hosts running on ESXi or Hyper-V, while monitoring appliance performance and resolving operational issues.
• Remediate security vulnerabilities and controls based on STIGs and scanning reports, and deploy endpoint security policies and configurations.
• Install firmware and maintain DellEMC and HPE servers, SANs, switches, firewalls, and other infrastructure components.
• Monitor Kubernetes clusters with tools such as Grafana, review logs proactively, and identify issues before escalation.
• Provide first-line support to government, contractor, and subcontractor personnel; collaborate with product support and development teams; and deliver daily customer communications, activity summaries, and trip reports when applicable.

Requirements

• Active TS with SCI, or SCI eligibility within two years from last use.
• At least one DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce Qualification Program certification at IAT Level II or higher.
• Ability to meet U.S. ITAR or EAR work authorization requirements.
• Windows and RHEL 8.x installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience managing ESXi or Hyper-V virtual hosts and troubleshooting appliance performance.
• Experience remediating security vulnerabilities aligned with STIGs or scan reports and installing firmware across major server and network hardware.
• Experience providing first-line support to government and contractor personnel, communicating daily with customers and management, and preparing reports.
• Deep understanding of Windows OS services and service accounts; routing, switching, firewall rules, and TCP/UDP/SSH/FTP/SCP/HTTPS protocols; certificate lifecycle management; and server hardware installation, patching, and maintenance.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or equivalent experience, plus 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Ability to perform physical hardware tasks including lifting, racking, and cabling.
