Manager, S&OP (Automotive)

Location: Troy, Michigan, United States; hybrid role with regular on-site attendance at the designated work location and up to 10% international and domestic travel.

What you will do

• Lead the Sales & Operations Planning function, aligning customer demand, material availability, production capacity, inventory, revenue, and business objectives across multiple planning horizons.
• Coordinate customers, OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, manufacturing plants, third-party warehouses, and internal stakeholders to ensure supply chain execution and customer delivery performance.
• Direct material planning, procurement, fulfillment, shipment coordination, expedited freight, inventory reconciliation, packaging reviews, and compliance documentation.
• Manage material breakpoint planning for new product launches, engineering changes, material transitions, and Engineering Work Order outcomes.
• Develop contingency and risk mitigation plans, resolve material and supply chain discrepancies, and lead obsolescence reviews and recovery of valid excess and obsolete inventory costs.
• Analyze operational data, present forecasts and performance metrics to leadership and headquarters, represent S&OP in executive and customer meetings, and coach team members while driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• At least 5 years of people manager experience in supply chain management or S&OP within automotive, electronics, or manufacturing environments, working with OEMs and Tier 1 customers.
• Strong organization and attention to detail in communications and process documentation.
• Ability to solve complex customer, vendor, warehouse, and supplier issues.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Working knowledge of ERP, MRP, and WMS, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into recommendations.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to independently lift and carry boxes weighing 10–20 lbs.
• Ability to travel up to 10% internationally and domestically.
