Senior Buyer, Procurement (Automotive IT)

Location: Montgomery, Alabama; 5-days onsite

What you will do

• Lead procurement and strategic sourcing for IT hardware, software, software maintenance, cloud services, and professional services across the Automotive Manufacturing region.
• Negotiate pricing, contract terms, service levels, and delivery schedules, and manage RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes through contract award.
• Evaluate and manage suppliers using quality, cost, delivery, technical capability, capacity, scorecards, KPIs, and business reviews.
• Analyze markets, vendor benchmarks, spend data, total cost of ownership, and savings opportunities to improve sourcing outcomes.
• Standardize procurement processes, use procurement systems and automation tools, and maintain policy, governance, compliance, and ethical sourcing requirements.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, IT, Manufacturing, business leaders, vendors, and delivery teams; present reporting and mentor junior procurement professionals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of procurement, strategic sourcing, purchasing, or vendor management experience.
• Experience sourcing and negotiating contracts for IT hardware, software, maintenance agreements, and professional services.
• Experience managing RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes, negotiating supplier agreements, and achieving cost savings initiatives.
• Experience supporting enterprise-level procurement functions in a corporate or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of procurement and sourcing methodologies, contract management, vendor performance management, supplier risk assessment, and Total Cost of Ownership principles.
• Experience using ERP and procurement systems, with strong spend analysis and reporting capabilities.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and procurement reporting tools.
• Exceptional negotiation, influencing, relationship-building, stakeholder management, communication, analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, collaboration, leadership, and mentoring abilities.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting automotive manufacturing organizations or procuring technology solutions within enterprise IT environments.
• Professional certification such as CPSM, CPSD, CSCP, or PMP.
• Experience with SAP procurement modules and procurement automation platforms.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud services, software licensing, and cybersecurity procurement.
• Experience leading supplier governance programs and executive-level vendor reviews.
• Familiarity with Hyundai Motor Group business operations and manufacturing environments.
• Experience driving digital transformation initiatives within procurement functions.
