Senior Accountant - Profit Sharing Programs

Location: Work from home; remote

Salary: $75,000–$95,000 per year, with additional annual incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Administer and reconcile accounts for profit-sharing retrospective programs.
• Calculate and validate profit-sharing payouts against contractual agreements.
• Prepare financial reporting, variance analysis, supporting documentation, financial models, and forecasts.
• Analyze program performance, identify trends and discrepancies, and drive issues through resolution.
• Partner with Finance, Accounting, and Program Management to align financial results with program and contractual terms.
• Support audits, improve and automate accounting processes, and provide guidance to junior team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 7 or more years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, financial reporting, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex account reconciliations and financial reporting processes.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP or financial systems.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting practices.
• Strong accounting, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret contractual terms, analyze large or complex data sets, communicate actionable insights, and independently manage competing priorities.
• Ability to mentor, guide, and share knowledge with less experienced team members.

Nice to have

• CPA or another relevant accounting or finance certification.
• Experience with profit-sharing, retrospective, dealer, or insurance-related programs.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or comparable ERP and financial systems.
• Experience with Tableau and SQL.
• Experience improving or automating accounting, reconciliation, or financial reporting processes.
