Data Engineering Manager (GCP)

What you will do

• Lead, scale, and mentor the data engineering team and provide high-level management for the DBA team.
• Drive infrastructure projects across streaming and batch data environments using GCP, BigQuery, dbt, and Apache Flink.
• Embed AI into pipeline development, platform operations, and data access layers.
• Partner with the DBA team to support transactional database reliability, uptime, and integration with the analytical platform.
• Set standards for data quality, testing, observability, architecture, documentation, governance, and cloud cost optimization.
• Align data pipelines and metrics with business decisions and product goals.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading data engineering teams while writing code, reviewing pull requests, and solving complex system problems.
• Strong Google Cloud Platform experience, including BigQuery and cloud data processing.
• Practical experience with dbt transformation models and Apache Flink or Dataflow for real-time streaming data.
• Active use of modern AI coding assistants and automation workflows, with an interest in using AI to scale team impact.
• Experience managing relational database teams, such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, without requiring deep day-to-day DBA execution.
• High standards for clean architecture, platform governance, documentation, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and advanced English proficiency.
