Data Platform Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Services (GCP)

What you will do

• Build and evolve a next-generation Transportation & Logistics data platform on Google Cloud Platform.
• Design, provision, and maintain cloud infrastructure with Terraform and automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Support migration of workloads, storage layers, and data pipelines from AWS and Azure to GCP.
• Develop and optimize data platform capabilities, including batch and streaming pipeline orchestration.
• Implement security, privacy, compliance, IAM, network, secrets management, data classification, and encryption guardrails.
• Maintain observability, auditability, runbooks, deployment evidence, cost controls, and operational readiness.

Requirements

• Experience reasoning about and debugging code, data pipelines, and infrastructure across multiple technical layers.
• Foundational cloud engineering knowledge in AWS, Azure, or GCP, with hands-on capability or willingness to specialize in GCP.
• Hands-on experience with declarative infrastructure as code, especially Terraform, state management, and CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions.
• Working knowledge of modern data platform tools and primitives, including BigQuery or Redshift, Airflow or Cloud Composer, Pub/Sub or Kafka, Dataflow, or dbt.
• Ability to use AI tools critically for delivery, troubleshooting, documentation, and code reviews while validating their output for safety and performance.
• Pragmatic judgment regarding testing, observability, governance, security, privacy, architecture, and operational resilience.
