Senior Backend Engineer (AI)

hirify.global is a stablecoin-native banking platform for global enterprises, providing corporate cards, payments, treasury, and spend products.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate scalable backend services that process financial transactions and serve customers across multiple countries.
• Develop production-quality services and APIs using Go, Python, or Node.js/TypeScript, including REST, GraphQL, gRPC, message queues, and event-driven communication.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis data models and schemas for correctness, performance, and scale.
• Integrate LLM APIs and safely process AI-generated outputs in product features, with validation, fallbacks, observability, and cost efficiency.
• Implement security, monitoring, structured logging, tracing, CI/CD, testing, and deployment practices; participate in on-call and post-incident reviews.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, compliance, data, and AI teams across regions and contribute to documentation and design reviews.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience building and operating production systems.
• Fluent English for daily written and spoken work with global teams.
• Strong proficiency in at least one of Go, Python, or Node.js/TypeScript.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven backend systems.
• Solid relational database knowledge, preferably PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure; Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs reliably in production, including error handling, retry logic, and observability.
• Experience working on globally distributed teams across time zones and regions.
• Comfort using AI tools in everyday engineering work, including integrating LLM outputs into backend services and using AI coding assistants.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, financial services, payments, or regulated industries, including ledger systems, payment rails, KYC/AML, or PCI-DSS.
• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese.
• Startup or high-growth scale-up experience and comfort working with ambiguity.
• Experience with multi-currency systems or cross-border payment processing.
• Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, and event-driven architecture.
• Global work experience at companies operating across multiple countries and regulatory environments.
