Principal Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid, Lehi, Utah, United States; worksite at 1441 W Innovation Way, Suite 500, Lehi, UT 84043, combined with a home office.

hirify.global's Corporate Engineering department develops large-scale, distributed software systems and AI-accelerated product capabilities.

What you will do

• Lead complex technical initiatives and make architectural decisions for robust, scalable, secure, and high-quality software systems.
• Set technical direction and design, develop, and implement large-scale distributed systems and features.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and drive cloud-native, microservices-based, event-driven, and service-oriented architectures.
• Architect and integrate AI and machine learning solutions, including applied machine learning, computer vision, and foundation-model integrations such as Amazon Bedrock.
• Establish engineering standards for quality, observability, and operational excellence while reducing operational cost and increasing system resilience.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, plus 5 years of experience in software development or a related occupation.
• Background designing, building, and maintaining large-scale, distributed software systems.
• Ability to design and implement cloud-native architectures on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Ability to design and deliver microservices-based and event-driven software architectures.
• Background architecting and integrating AI and machine learning solutions into production software systems, including applied machine learning, computer vision, and foundation-model integration such as Amazon Bedrock.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks, including Python and FastAPI for backend and API development and React with modern JavaScript/TypeScript for front-end delivery.
• Knowledge of SQL, Snowflake, relational and NoSQL databases, and data pipelines and streaming for large-scale, high-volume processing.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, logging, and observability tooling for production reliability.
• Ability to translate complex and ambiguous business problems into scalable, reliable, and secure technical solutions.
